Our 400 feet of waterfront on Lake Quassapaug boasts a sandy bottom with a gradual slope, perfect for swimming and water activities.
With a strong emphasis on swimming, boating, picnicking, and activities for all ages, we strive to provide an unforgettable experience for our members and their loved ones.
100 Years of Lakeside Fun
The Sandy Beach Club history as a lakeside resort dates back over 100 years. Sandy Beach Club is a family-owned, family-operated beach and boating club. It has been owned by the Protasevich/Anderson families since 1973. Prior to that. it was owned by the Tolles family and operated by the Overton and Finley families.
The home on the property was known as the Sandy Beach Lodge for many years. It contained 8 bedrooms and a large wrap around porch. Many of these photos were made into postcards in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's and has allowed a glimpse into what a typical Sandy Beach Day was like over the years - the boat rental fleet, the snack bar that served the beloved hotdogs and the history of the infamous tower!
While Sandy Beach has evolved over the last century, it still offers most of its founding amenities with a modern twist. As 4th and 5th generation members are starting their Sandy Beach journey, the legacy of "making a lifetime of memories one summer at a time" continues.

Our snack bar serves up a variety of treats, including ice cream, candy, granola bars, chips, and refreshing beverages. The basketball court, kid's fishing dock, and swim rafts provide endless hours of fun.
Our boat racks and water slips provide convenient storage, ensuring seamless access to Lake Quassapaug for all your spontaneous afternoons on the lake.
Having a family gathering? Reserve our pavilion for the afternoon so your family may enjoy a private gathering place. After a long day on the beach or the lake (or both!), place your sand toys, chairs, fishing poles, grill, and picnic items in your beach locker, so they’ll only be steps away upon your next visit!
